Message from the Principal

Dear Parent/carer

We are fast approaching the end of the autumn term and the long awaited Christmas holidays! This term has been a fantastic one for the academy. A successful Ofsted inspection, lots of hard work from our superb students and staff, trips and visits and a shared commitment towards our drive to becoming an outstanding school. Your continued support for maintaining our high standards around uniform, behaviour and attendance is very much appreciated.

My autumn newsletter is now on our website and Facebook page. Please take the time to read this as it is full of useful information and key dates for the forthcoming year.

You will also notice on the website our push to achieve the best attendance ever on the run up to the holidays. Attendance Week will take place during the last week of term, the 11th-15th December. We have let staff and students know that this week will be all about being in school, enjoying lessons as normal but more importantly, ensuring that students are at school on the very last day to enjoy the festivities, our raffles and to meet our surprise special guests! We are all very excited by this and will let you know what our attendance for that week was as soon as we know. Our Trust schools will also be partaking in this attendance drive during that week.

Spring term 2018

The Academy reopens to students on Wednesday 3rd January 2018. It is vital that your son/daughter attends for the three days of that week so that we don't undo all the hard work on attendance done to date. We really do appreciate your support with this. As the weather becomes a lot colder with the likelihood of snow and ice, can I please remind parents/carers that should students need to walk to school in boots or similar, they then need to change their footwear once in school.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas. We look forward to welcoming students back in the New Year.
