All the Duke of Edinburgh award students have completed their 7km navigational walk around Fairburn Ings and the surrounding areas of Ledsham and Ledston. The students have done remarkably well with this intensive course in map-reading and navigating. The route included walking along roads, through a farmer's field, between barns and through the woods, so students are fully prepared for their qualifying walks later in June/July. Students have also been tested with the typical British weather, which lashed down Wednesday and parts of Thursday. The weather relented on Friday but was still muddy from the previous days' downpours. A huge well done to all the students that took part and thank you to the staff who volunteered their time; good luck to everyone taking part in the qualifying expeditions!
