Airedale Academy receives additional funding of £935 per pupil, per year for pupils who are entitled to free school meals. This additional money is called the pupil premium.
We encourage all parents/carers on low incomes to check their eligibility for free school meals by contacting the school office for an application form, as a successful application will increase the pupil premium funding the school receives. As well as receiving a free school lunch, children eligible for pupil premium can also access heavily-subsidised music lessons and apply for support with the cost of trips/visits and uniform. Our cashless catering system means that no one else will know that your child is receiving free school meals, as the money is added to their account automatically each day and can be spent in the usual way.
A report on the amount of pupil premium received, how it has been spent, and the impact of the spending can be viewed by clicking on the Pupil Premium Impact Report link. Our strategy for how the Academy plans to spend the current year’s allocation can be downloaded from the link below.
A report can also be downloaded regarding the Catch-Up Premium, which is paid to the Academy for those students who join us from primary school with below expected levels of attainment in English and Maths.
